Well, if you take THIS mouse to school with you, then you’re off to quite the adventure. You just may end up getting involved in more than you anticipated, all because you decided to take your friend to “his” first day of school with you. “If You Take a Mouse to School” is a classic children’s book series that your children are bound to love. Here’s why we added this and a few others in the series to our home collection… Our book of the week is... "What a Family!" by Rachel Isadora (author and illustrator) WHAT A BOOK! WHAT WONDERFUL ILLUSTRATIONS! What a GREAT concept! You may be wondering what all the rave is about this book, so let us attempt to enlighten you for a spell. Our book of the week is... "The Gruffalo" by Julia Donaldson, illustrated by Axel Scheffler Words can NOT sufficiently or efficiently describe just how much or why we love this book! Words can not describe how many times we've read this book. It is the most cleverly written "children's book" ever. "Children's book" being in quotes because this is a book that the adults seem to enjoy more, and probably better comprehend the level of cleverness the main character exudes Our book of the week is... "Pigs Love Potatoes" by Anika Denise, illustrated by Christopher Denise This is the cutest, most charming counting book EVER! It's simple yet colorfully creative. It is poetically written with clever rhyme and rhythm. The characters are all so cute. The whole family is included and considered during the preparation of making dinner. And who doesn't love potatoes!? Our book of the week is... "Little Monkey Lost" by Keith DuQuette (Author and Illustrator) Talk about an adventure! This cute "little monkey" decides to "accidentally" venture off away from his comfortable, safe, home because he was bored. He meets quite a variety of other jungle members along his quest to find his way back home. He's so cute, so genuinely intuitive, yet so innocent. But... Our book of the week is... "I Saw an Ant on the Railroad Track" by Joshua Prince, illustrated by Macky Pamintaun We stumbled upon this wonderful book by accident years ago because we read a book entitled "Bedtime at the Swamp" written by Kristyn Crow and illustrated by Macky Pamintaun. That book was wonderfully written, and excellently illustrated. We decided to see if the artist had illustrated any other books, and here's where this week's selection comes into view. Our book of the week is... "My Brother Charlie" by Holly Robinson Peete and Ryan Elizabeth Peete illustrated by Shane Evans Our family fell in love with this book at first sight!
