Our very first "book of the week" is... "Bedtime at the Swamp" by Kristyn Crow, illustrated by Macky Pamintaun We discovered this cool book by accident years ago while perusing the library. It is an excellent, interesting book, with wonderful illustrations! We loved the artwork so much that... We researched the artist and rented other books from the library that he, Macky Pamintaun, illustrated. We discovered two more excellently written and illustrated books, "I Saw An Ant on the Railroad Track" and "I Saw An Ant in the Parking Lot" both written by Joshua Prince.
In "Bedtime at the Swamp," the author takes us on a nighttime adventure about a little boy who's just not quite ready for bed. He's still playing in the mud. Readers begin to wonder if there really is a monster on the loose. Is there!? Maybe you'll have to read it to find out. :) Remember to check out additional material by artists and illustrators, as well as additional books by authors that you already love and enjoy. It's a quick way to rack up on extra reading material. You'll be amazed at what more you'll discover! Be sure to check this book out at your local library, or pick up a copy of your own to add to your ever-growing home library collection. Enjoy! :) To read about and/or add some of our upcoming "Books of the Week" recommendations, click on the links below. Comments are closed.
