Our book of the week is... “I Already Know I Love You” by Billy Crystal, illustrated by Elizabeth Sayles Today, we’re featuring the third of five books previously featured in our “Father’s Day Book Melange” in June (see here). Written by the famous, renowned, Emmy-award winning comedian and actor, Mr. Billy Crystal himself, in the book “I Already Know I Love You,” Mr. Crystal has outdone himself by providing just as much creativity to this written children’s book masterpiece. He has managed to entertain us all with yet another masterful perspective into the brilliancy that he possesses! There’s SO MUCH to say about this wonderful storybook… Our book of the week is... “Just the Two of Us” by Will Smith illustrated by Kadir Nelson “Just the Two of Us” is another book previously featured in our “Father’s Day Book Melange” in June (see here). It’s a beautifully poetic book written by famed lyricist and blockbuster movie maker Will Smith, and wonderfully illustrated by famous artist Kadir Nelson. It was featured as one of our Father’s Day favorites because it’s a cute story about a dad watching his son grow up before his eyes. There are several additional splendid aspects in and about this book that made it worthy of donning it’s personal Book of the Week spot, too. Our book of the week is... “I Love Big Cats” by Steve Parker illustrated by Ian Jackson We originally featured this beautifully illustrated, big cats “First Facts and Pictures” book in our “Father’s Day Book Melange” in June (see here) because it’s cats are the subject of this book, and the guys at ArtEase! seem to enjoy learning more about big cats, animals, bugs, and more. Because “I Love Big Cats” book remains a specialty item in our home school, it deserves to don its own children’s “Book of the Week” spot. I concur! Our book of the week is... "Puff the Magic Dragon" by Peter Yarrow and Lenny Lipton, illustrated by Eric Puybaret Sing with me if you remember the words to the classic poem/song…“Puff the Magic Dragon lived by the sea, And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honalee.” Ahhhh…those words and tunes bring back memories… If you’ve not experienced Puff and all his magical wonder, then you’re in for a treat! Our book of the week is... "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle (author and illustrator) “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle is probably my most favorite children’s book of all time! I remember reading it every night as a child, over and over again, and I still have my original copy, with all the markings of my childhood ideas included. This story book holds a special place in my heart for many, many reasons. It is now a staple & favorite in our ArtEase! home school library for several reasons, too. Take a walk with us down memory lane as we share with you all the characteristics and elements that make this book one of our all-time faves! |
