Our book of the week is... "Puff the Magic Dragon" by Peter Yarrow and Lenny Lipton, illustrated by Eric Puybaret Sing with me if you remember the words to the classic poem/song…“Puff the Magic Dragon lived by the sea, And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honalee.” Ahhhh…those words and tunes bring back memories… If you’ve not experienced Puff and all his magical wonder, then you’re in for a treat! My son was gifted the green, fabric-woven, oversized, hardback collector’s book version by his godparents when he was but a year old! It immediately brought back memories of my childhood that I had forgotten I hadn’t revisited in a while…fond, carefree, pleasant memories. We read this (and many, many others) to him several nights for bedtime stories. He grew to love it, too. It’s so touching and warm and even a bit sad in places, too. We shant reveal ALL the wonder this book brings because you’ll have to grab a copy for yourself in order to experience this cozy classic in detail! But what we WILL share are all the exciting aspects of this children’s book that make it one of our all-time favorite storybooks.
