Our book of the week is... “My Lucky Day” by Keiko Kasza (author and illustrator) The sly ole fox is at home sharpening his claws in preparation for his dinner-hunt when a “delicious-looking piglet” shows up at his front door! “How often does dinner come knocking on the door?” The fox thought, “this must be my lucky day!” Or IS it? Author and illustrator Keiko Kasza is a brilliant children’s book author who is masterfully artful and comedic in her ability to build suspense from beginning to end. She’s highly skilled in creating the perfect character expressions and unspoken feelings and emotions through her illustrations. Each page is filled with the perfect amount of information, written and visual, in a unique, cartoonish style that’s clearly her own. Everything about this book is cleverly thought out and wonderfully presented for all ages and audiences to engage in. You’ll have to read “My Lucky Day” for yourself in order to see just how “lucky” fox’s day turns out.
