This week, ArtEase! presents to you one of the SIMPLEST, tastiest, most customizable dishes your home school could ever create! TOSTADAS! Why head to a Mexican restaurant for your “toasted tortilla,” or tacos, nachos, enchiladas, fajitas, burritos, or enchiladas when you can build your own crunchy corn shell and top it with all the creamy guacamole, smokey chipotle, yummy sauté-grilled veggies, scrumptious grilled chicken or beef, melted cheeses, fresh crisp lettuce, and red-ripened juicy diced tomatoes that your heart desires, AT HOME!? Is your mouth watering yet? Let’s make this flavorous multi-colored dish… TOGETHER! OLÉ!!!
What do you get when you mix cinnamon rolls, cinnamon apples, brown sugar, a tablespoon of water, a muffin pan, non-stick spray, and an oven at about 350 degrees? You get what we call “MinneappleUps,” or mini cinnamon apple cups! Talk about SCRUMPTIOUS!!! Here’s how we make them.
In light of America’s most patriotic holiday just around the corner, we thought we’d share with you some of our red, white, and blue Independence Day fun! Believe me, this isn’t your regular, typical, lactose-lined smoothie. This particular smoothie is as originally plain and SIMPLE as possible, and my homeschooler LOVES it mostly because he can have as much fruit and ice (and maybe juice) as he desires. Here’s how we do it.
Soooo… what in the world do you and the kids give Dad for Father’s Day that he doesn’t already have a ton of, that he would be surprised to have, and that he would thoroughly enjoy? We have the PERFECT, original, fun, simple yet thoughtful, sweet-filled surprise that not only will you and your kids enjoy creating together, but we guarantee that your special dad will be HIGHLY satisfied to be the recipient of!
What is “Cuneiform,” you ask? Well, a few years ago, we discovered this ancient form of writing in our favorite whole-school homeschool curriculum, My Father’s World (MFW), and we found a specially tasty way to study cuneiform, too.
Making a simple bowl-size batch of ice cream is a cinch, once you know what to do and how to do it. No need to pull out the bulky, noisy homemade ice cream machine just because you're craving a delicious non-store-bought bowl of ice cream. We have a fun and easy, minimal supply-needed solution to your summer ice cream crave: "Ice Cream in a Baggie!" Here's what you'll need...
So... my family LOVES desserts. I'm not the biggest dessert fan, but I've been instructed to simply understand that desserts are a necessity here. Since they are (periodically) required in order to ensure our homeschool remains functional, we often find ourselves creating food and art along our journey.
