HAPPY FATHER'S DAY 2018! Our homeschool support group plays an active part in our daily homeschool schedules and activities. We believe we have the absolute BEST homeschool group on the planet! One thing that truly created an immediate foundation for our group is that the fathers (or school principals) play a vital, hands-on, active and interactive role in our planning, meetings, events, gatherings, and field trips. Our dads genuinely deserve to be honored, hailed, and appreciated on this upcoming Father’s Day on June 17th. Our father’s assist in writing lesson plans, conducting academic experiments and activities, participate in field trips all around our region, and attend meetings and prayer gatherings. These group of guys are truly special and highly appreciated. This year, we decided to highlight some of the great, fun qualities that our dad’s exude by asking a few of them to share with us their most favorite tool or gadget. Here’s what three of our cool dad’s shared with us. ![]() Our first active homeschool dad, who we all call “Coach,” is our group’s Head of Support. He said that he thoroughly enjoyed his “pressure washer” when he had it. He added that he “loved having it pressure wash almost anything. It had great power and made what he was cleaning look wonderful!” ![]() Shon, our second homeschool dad shared with us that he loves his cordless screwdriver. According to this guy, “about 90% of the items in our home and school require screw-driving; all of the wall need it, things like mounts, picture frames, chalk boards, dry erase boards; then we have light fixtures, light switch covers, shelves, cabinets, cabinet knobs, etc. This is great because I’ve always enjoyed the powered screw driver," he continued, "and when they invented the cordless screwdriver, it immediately reigned tool supreme!” ![]() Our third funtastic homeschool dad, Matt, said that his favorite tool is “the drill.” It’s actually his wife’s drill “specifically because it is small, even though she drew hearts and rainbows all over it to discourage his ‘borrowing.’” His wife even shared that he has his own “heavy duty man drill but prefers hers.” HILARIOUS! :) As you can see, our dads are lots of fun, and they play an important role in our individual homeschools and our support group. Educating our children is definitely a daunting yet required task, but by sharing all of the responsibilities, we create a unit of togetherness at home and in our entire homeschool support group family.
